Built in 1600 as a fortified farmhouse, Masseria Chiancone Torricella is immersed in an oasis of natural beauty, typically Mediterranean, spangled with white rural buildings, typical of the country tradition, the Trulli, and of the feudal tradition, the Masserie. In the accurate renovation, the property has dedicated much attention to the respect of the environment and architecture, using the "certosina" handiwork for cleaning and restoring, by the hands of the local skilled stone workers. When you arrive, both your body and mind find an unexpected appeasement and get immersed in an outrageous atmosphere, where all is in harmony with nature and with the environment. Among woods of oak and holm-oak, you can walk along pleasant paths and enjoy the spontaneous hug of the nature every hour of the day
Exterior
Situated in a strategic position, the city of Martina Franca offers various tourist opportunities. Placed in the centre of the "Murgia area of the Trullis", the town, example among the most known for its Apulian Baroque architecture, is the starting point for numerous cultural and eno-gastronomic itineraries with tasting of typical Apulian products. You can undertake an actual journey to discover the treasures of the past, such as the many archaeological sites that date back to the Magna Grecia Age, going through a landscape characterized by Medieval castles of the Frederican Age. It's the same view of which profiles are circumscribed by stone walls, placed as boundaries among imposing noble buildings, the Masserie, and humble rural houses, the Trulli.
Rooms
Masseria Chiancone Torricella has 49 elegant and comfortable rooms made respecting the architecture of the antique building. The rooms all have a telephone, TV with satellite and terrestrial antenna, fridge, air conditioning and heating, safe, and bathroom with shower and hairdryer. In some rooms it is possible to have a WI-FI internet connection, or to have rooms with a small balcony. All rooms are accessible to disabled people.
Restaurant
In Trullis, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, a part from enjoying the tastes of the local and regional specialties, the restaurant proposes refined dishes of international taste. In the spacious ballrooms you can organize elegant events and work meetings. With the beginning of the spring season and for the whole summer period (here in Martina Franca even autumn has mild weather, in fact the beginning of October has been called "Summer of Saint Martin", recognizing to the patron saint the merit of preceding the winter with a period of unexpected warmth), you can enjoy the wide outdoor spaces in an atmosphere wrapped by scent of the holm-oaks , bushes of bay leaves and hundred-year-old olive trees, typical of the Mediterranean bushes. Little meeting rooms, in which when needed you can organize meetings and business breakfasts, complete the settings dedicated to our guests.
Location
Situated geographically on the highest point of the South- Eastern Murgia, Masseria Chiancone preserves the suggestion and the antique fascination of the original structure. The central building is represented by the masseria, which was once the main house and farmer's house, with adjacent rooms used to breed the animals, and as storage for forage. It was a fortified dwelling with the defence towers and loopholes disposed among the first and second floor: today you can find there the Club House, the reception, the hall, the reading and TV room, and the fireplace room. The seven Trulli are essentially used for the production and preservation of the cheese, while a spacious room is reserved for the sheepfold. Today, communicating Trullis form the characteristic restaurant à la carte.
