The Grana Barocco Art Hotel & Spa has maintained intact the atmosphere of an old noble Sicilian palace, from the interior furnishings and frescoed decoration, to the antique Sicilian furniture and damask curtains and tapestries. Each of the rooms has been given a distinct and unique personality, through the choice of colours and furnishings. The floors have original majolica inserts from Caltagirone, entirely painted by hand and laid out with ancient techniques used by masters of the Art. All the furniture is original from 18th century with classic wood desks, baroque sofas in red and brown velvet with Swaroski inlay, Sicilian wrought iron bedsteads with mother pearl inlay, wardrobes and chests of drawers. Every room is embellished with its particular bathroom, all with bisazza mosaics in various shades, colors and decorations which give a significant value to the design. The floors of the large hall are made in Modican stone “pietra pece” with majolica inserts from Caltagirone according to a typical composition of that period, a work of extraordinary beauty to represent with dignity the local building techniques. All the light fittings of the Hotel Grana Barocco are of Bohemian crystal. The Rooms and Hall's are equipped with flat screen TV's of the latest generation and offer all the comforts of a four star hotel.

The Grana Barocco Art Hotel and Spa offers elegant rooms of various types, each different from the next and all with ensuite bathrooms. Each of the rooms has been given a distinct and unique personality, through the choice of colours and furnishings. All are equipped with flat screen TV, WI FI Internet, a/c (hot/cold), minibar and safety box. The 3 elegant and valuable Suites consist of two rooms and can accommodate up to four people and make the Grana Barocco one of the most luxurious hotel in the province of Ragusa and of Sicily.
Restaurant
The Hotel's Restaurant is to be found on the ground floor, has stone floors and is located inside an ancient grotto (home of the first peoples who settled in south-eastern Sicily more than 3000 years ago); here you can enjoy traditional local cooking combined with high Italian cuisine based on excellent quality ingredients, carefully selected by chef. Discovered during construction, the ancient spaces have been left intact, by using glass and led lighting to show off the evidences found in the cave (the excavations in the walls where they used to hold the furnishings or tie up animals, an ancient cistern deep 5 m and in diameter 6 m), an evocative environment and a place to come together, where sight, touch and taste are mixed to create an experience that involves all the senses.
Location
In the historic center of Modica, just a few steps from the most interesting monuments of this city - nestled among green hills - a strategic location to discover Sicily and its fascinating corners. The Grana Barocco Hotel & Spa emerged from the renovation of an old aristocratic palace dating from the 17th century. The restoration was conservative in order to preserve the charm of the old structure of considerable artistic and architectural value, with its wrought iron “goose breast” balconies, supported by intricately carved corbels from the 17th century, the entrance being framed with columns and masks of the period. The restructuring has not only taken account of the ancient construction techniques but also wanted to emphasize the use of environmentally friendly materials, alternative energy sources of low energy consumption. All facilities are served by a photo voltaic system and solar panels are installed on the roof of the building. The windows have double glazing for a perfect insulation. The choice made by the hotel management in adopting this energy policy is to run the hotel by using low environmental impact sources, to avoid harmful waste in the environment and harmful discharges into the atmosphere.
