The hotel has seen more than 40 years of history and was built and decorated in the 50's. Many celebrities in the spheres of politics and the arts have stayed at the hotel such as Salvador Allende, Johnny Weismüller, Ginger Rogers and many others. The architecture offers an eastern atmosphere of rare exoticism and novelty. A total of 352 rooms are on offer on 20 floors of which 309 are double rooms, 26 are triple rooms, 16 are junior suites and 1 is a presidential suite. Facilities include a foyer, a currency exchange desk, a bar, a restaurant, medical assistance, a tourist information centre, a selection of shops, taxi, room, postal and laundry services. Moreover, guests may pay a visit to the Primavera buffet restaurant where breakfast and the evening meal are on offer, as well as L'Aiglon à la carte restaurant, which is open for lunch and dinner, and the Mirador Habana where an array of international à la carte dishes and breakfast specialities may be sampled.
Rooms
The standard rooms are spacious and comfortable and have sea views. Guests who seek comfort ultra-modern rooms could find a bit 'out of fashion in terms of furnishings and decor, but fans of 50s style certainly feel at home here. The bathrooms are very large and modern. The rooms where the final number is 11 and 13 (on each floor) with balcony. The rooms have air conditioning, telephone, satellite TV, safe, minibar, hairdryer, private bathroom, hot and cold water. The suites have an extra seating space and a large room, done in the same style standard room. The bathrooms are exceptionally spacious and practical.
