Clean, comfortable and friendly

This is an excellent hotel for the price. the rooms are simple but clean and comfortable with ample closet and drawer space. the staff from reception to cleaners to breakfast servers are friendly and always willing to help. the hotel is located on the attractive tavistock square and is very convenient to the theatres in the west end and on the south bank by either bus or tube.

Comfortable, reasonable and great service

The room was comfortable with lots of hot water in the shower. the staff were very accommodating - anything requested from housekeeping arrived promptly. the dining room staff were friendly and helpful. our room had a lovely view of tavistock square and the windows were sound-proof enough so we didn't hear the traffic. the front desk staff were also very accommodating.

Well run hotel in a great location with professional staff. there was a problem with the booking when we arrived but the staff sorted it out quickly politely and efficiently. the rooms are small but clean, quiet and airy. location is close to london but still far enough away to relax. the breakfast is a must it was sensational. only problem was not having wifi in the room, these days room wifi is becoming essential and this hotel only has wifi in the foyer.

Great location

We stayed here in july 2014 for a few nights and it compares very well with other hotels in the bloomsbury area that we have stayed at. breakfast was value for money and the rooms are neat and tidy. staff friendly. what more could you want.

Great location but would not recommend!

This hotel is in a great location however would definitely not stay again or recommend.
the beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable and in desperate need of an upgrade, and the bathroom towels were so old they were paper thin. the room was quite clean but very noisy hotel with "banging doors" and loud guests returning late at night.
the breakfast is like a bun fight and very basic, with mostly rude staff who clearly did not want to be there!

I found the hotel excellent value, clean, with friendly and very helpful staff, especially the porters.
it is in a lovely area of london with great transport connections: 3 underground stations and frequent buses.
there are various restaurants and bars nearby with good food.

London retreat

This hotel is superbly located and i have used it with my family and friends for the last 6 years when i visit.

the staff are friendly and due to my continued custom i was bumped up for english breakfast which was greatly appreciated.

i you want easy access to the west end, euston /st pancras / kings cross railway stations as well as the strand area then this is just the ticket. and what a price for such a location.

the rooms are clean and suitable for the stay. no frills but all you need. a few restaurants nearby and a great pub opposite the president which is in the same hotel group.

recommended!!!

Price and location main reason to stay here. no wifi in rooms. continental breakfast included but american/british breakfast 5 pounds extra. no ac. fussy about having a printout of your online purchased voucher.

Stay at tavistock hotel

Spent a night there last week. ideal hotel to visit central london. very good value. old fashioned with reasonable sized rooms. staff friendly & helpful. have stayed there previously & would return.
