Location
With the hotel as a comfortable base, guests are free to explore and admire Chinchón’s beautiful and historic old quarter. The Plaza Mayor was sympathetically renovated and carefully restored in 2007, returning it to its original 16th century glory. There are also plenty of churches and museums nearby, which are well worth a visit and Teatro Lope de Vega is one of the area’s fascinating attractions. The magnificent sights and monuments of Madrid are just 35 minutes away and Toledo is just an hour away. Slightly further afield, you can enjoy the natural beauty of the region’s stunning landscapes, including the fertile lowland of Tajuña river, San Juan's lagoon and Villacabras' precipice. Museo del Melón in Villaconejos provides a fascinating insight into the history of the area’s agriculture, with an exhibition of photography and lots of interesting information about this traditional local way of life. There are also lots of vineyards, wine cellars, olive groves and olive oil distilleries located near Chinchón, Villaconejos, Valdelaguna and Colmenar de Oreja. Aranjuez is another great spot to visit and its Palacio Real and the Jardines del Principe are the town’s 2 main tourist attractions. For children, the Warner Bros Theme Park is just 20 minutes away from Chinchón.
