Stay 12th to 17th january 2015

In all it was a pleasant experience. the room and bathroom was somewhat small and slightly difficult to navigate. the room was situated at the front of the hotel. this put us at a slightly disadvantage, because of the noise resounding through the night from the street. the room itself was very warm, and this caused problems, because we had to sleep with the window open most of the time. if the air-conditioning had not been turned off, we would not have been inconvenienced.

the breakfast left somethings to be desired, but one would not class this as a catastrophe. offering fresh coffee, rather than that from a machine would be a benefit to the breakfast experience.

One night in rome

We used hotel diana as a last stop the night before we left italy. the rooms were adequate, although one in our party booked a single, which was the size of a small closet. i advise any single traveler to book a double for single use. the rooftop garden was very nice and provided a good setting for our last glass of wine in italy. the breakfast, however, was awful. the coffee was dispensed out of a push-button vat, the breads were not fresh. hotel diana appears to cater to tour bus groups who need to be up and out, so there is absolutely no personal service at breakfast. the hotel is listed as a four star hotel, but having stayed throughout italy on this trip, the hotel rates three stars only as it tends to the institutional mode of accommodation and services.
