Golf is not the only sport available. You may play tennis or exercise with the most advanced equipment available in our gym. The surrounding territory offers endless possibilities for sport activities: trekking, rafting, mountain-biking, excursions riding on horse, canyoning, hydroplane, and obviously the exploration of the “mountain”, from the caves to the crater on foot or with skis, off-piste or on the slopes recently renovated. Going towards the sea, excursions in powerboat, catamaran or sail boat, whale watching and all the typical marine activities. How many locations can offer you the emotion of walking on the peak of an active volcano? Breathe deeply the pure mountain air, admire the magic of a lunar landscape, view the flaming tongues of lava at sunset? The Funivia dell'Etna cableway is located on the south side of the volcano, roughly ten kilometers (about 6 miles) from the hotel. The cableway service operates all year round, allowing the exciting ascent of Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Going to Taormina is not simply a sea holiday. These places, rich in history and charm, require to be lived with a different frame of mind than usual, and the reason is very simple: here everything is out of the ordinary. Every stone carries a history of milleniums, the beautiful sea on which Taormina reflects its beauty influences and and marks the passing of time. The places that were the delight of the Greek convey an atmosphere resonating with emotions. The river Alcantara is one of most important ones in Sicily. The institution of the Municipality of the Alcantara River Park in 2001 expressed the desire to protect, manage and preserve the landscape and the natural environment of the river. As well as the naturalistic and architectural richness of the area, the villages of the valley offer many food and wine trails and traditional town festivals of the typical local products. In the most characteristic corners of the ancient town centers it's still possible to see craftsmen or women embroidering, in workshops or in the entrance hall of their own houses, intent on doing their detailed work. There are many oil mills and millstones where it's possible to live moments of the past, as if time had suddenly stopped. The cities of Castiglione di Sicilia and Randazzo are part of the National Association of the Cities of Wine. In their jurisdictions they insist on prestigious vineyards, with excellent recognized productions of hight quality wines. It's the area of the DOC Etna. Some wine cellars offer the possibility to taste the wine, previous booking.
