The lansdowne hotel - an honest stay for a cheap weekend

We stayed for 2 nights for a six nations game, overall it was what we expected for the money paid and was adequate for our needs.

great location, it was only a 15 min walk to the stadium and 20 min to st stephens green/grafton street.

having arrived at 10.00am following a very early flight, we were allowed to check-in immediately, despite the busy day ahead as they were preparing the front for the game.

our bedroom was clean but really did need some tlc, it was small but adequate for our short stay whilst the en-suite was quite big in relation to the room. the tv really is from an another era and whilst we appreciate the room is small, they should invest in flat screens, thereby taking up less space. that said, we were only in the room to sleep.

we did have continental breakfast included in our rate but did not take advantage as prefer a full breakfast when on a holiday/break. the dining room looked nice and warming as did the reception. sadly, the fire places had been replaced by electric fires which you do not expect to see in ireland.

the bar was typical of an irish bar, but again think it could do with a freshen up. bar prices were no different that the local pub and the guinness went down very well.

in summary, for what we paid for 2 nights £139.00, i would certainly stop again. it was good value and everyone was friendly and welcoming.

Short breack

We were very satisfied with the hotel and thouht it well positioned and reasonly priced.but we were woke up both nights at 3am with the phone ringing,we then found it very dificult to get back to sleep and suffered both days because of it. we complained at reception, they said there was a fault with the phone, we asked for a refund and was told she would speak to the manager who was'nt there at the time and would phone us at home that night (satuday),we are still waiting for that call.
it certanly took the shine of our weekend.
