Great location

Gorgeous hotel right in the middle of cork city, which is so convenient to shops, bars and restaurants. the room was beautiful and the buffet breakfast delicious. the only fly in the ointment was the parking facilities - parking is provided but it's a five minute walk away which can be a little awkward, and even at that, you have to pay €6 for the privilege.
the spa there is heavenly, "escape" is an apt name for it as you feel you've really got away from it all.
i'd definitely stay again and would recommend it.

Arpil 2008 stay

The imperial hotel is a lovely hotel to stay in. from the moment i arrived the staff were willing and able to help in any way. one down side is the carpark which is situated some distance from hotel. however i was able to check in bags and conceirge took my bags and brought to room whilst i parked car. on the second morning of my stay i was having fruit while i waited for cooked breakfast. i had not finished when cooked food arrived and rather than just placing on table for me to get when reardy the young man stood over me until i lifted fruit bowl for him to put down plate. i then was left holding bowl and trying to decide would i finish or not. this did not in anyway take form my stay in hotel nor would it deter me from recommending to family or friends. i just feel it should be noted by breakfast room staff so has not to happen again.

Imperial hotel - superb

Thsi hotel is a fantastic hotel and blends modern and traditional very well. the staff here are very friendly and professional, which gives it that personal touch to your stay, which you don't often get in quite a large hotel.

the spa element is misleading in their literature and on the website and does need to be paid for locally, however, there is a discount for hotel residents, which makes the use of the spa facilities fairly reasonable.

Great hotel - but beware of the parking situation

This hotel has the best location ever if you're interested in shopping and nightlife (obviously its a prime location for sightseeing too but that wasn't the top of our list of priorities)! everything about the hotel was lovely apart from the parking situation. the breakfast is class, the rooms are spotless, the products in the bathroom are lovely and it was overall a great place to stay. however it has to be said that if you book online there is no prior warning about the parking situation. you have to check in first to get a swipe for the car park (where there is limited parking). this isn't specified anywhere on the website and its impossible to pull up outside the hotel to check in as the south mall is extremely busy. this was our only gripe though and rather unfortunate that it had us in bad form as we entered the hotel and couldn't take in the enchanting decor in the lobby. (we did manage to take it in the next day though!!and enjoyed it thoroughly!)
