Denmark, officially United Kingdom of Denmark, is a Member State of the European Union and the state's smallest and most southern Scandinavia. Denmark borders both the Baltic Sea to the North Sea, where it joins with Norway. The country consists of a large peninsula, Jutland, which borders Germany, in addition to a large number of islands, the surface of Denmark looks like one big plain with the morainic hills of modest height. The now famous capital Copenhagen, now famous all over the world, is located on the island of Zealand and partly on the Amager.

The city is mostly history, a city church, Vor Fresler Kirke is a great place to get acquainted with the city: the bell-tower of nearly 100 meters high, and if you exceed the dizzying scale the view of the city is remarkable. The most famous attraction of the town is the statue of the Little Mermaid, depicting the protagonist of one of the most famous fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen. The graceful bronze statue placed above a rock near the shore, which through its beauty attracts many visitors. Other attractions are the Nationalmuseet (National Museum), where you can see some Viking finds most important; the Christiansborg palace, located in the center of the capital; the Copenhagen City Hall; Fountain Gefion, which depicts the legend of the birth of Zeeland; to spend on a pleasant walk to Nyhavn, the old harbor of Copenhagen, features all the colorful houses. You can take the opportunity to visit the amusement park Tivoli, in which, among many other fun rides, shows and restaurants.

Moving a bit from city center with convenient public transportation, you can visit other must-see attractions, such as the Frederiksborg Castle and the castle of Shakespeare, two almost fairy-tale landscapes. Very famous is the annual festival dedicated to the sculptures of sand that is generally held in July, attracting the best artists from around the world.
