Perfect for a quick stay

I booked the holiday inn express as i was going to be in london for one night with my two kids before flying home to ny. i was anxious about staying in a london hotel as i am a londoner and usually stay with family or friends. but i wanted somewhere close to heathrow so we could get one last day of pure sightseeing in. i was very happy altogether with our stay. when we arrived, it turned out the room i'd booked online only had two twin beds, so the reception manager unprompted changed our booking to a room with two doubles. the kids loved the room and watching uk tv in bad, as well as the large breakfast. after checking out, we were able to leave our luggage while we took a trip to london zoo and return to take refuge in the clean, air conditioned lobby before catching the tube to heathrow. i felt totally safe and even though king st is not the prettiest, it is a great location from which to explore the lovely backstreets of hammersmith and shepherds bush, including the river and the gorgeous brook green playground. (also, it does have an m&s and a boots, which compensates a lot for the high st-y feel!)

A safe option

Hammersmith has a bit of an issue with hotels. the holiday inn express is perhaps the best of a bad bunch compared with local guest houses and the novotel.

the rooms are simple and clean. it is just very noisy (from the corridors) and a bit bland and uninspiring. the beds are hard and the pillows lumpy, but it is clean and well maintained. the continental breakfast is again ok, but nothing special.

not luxury or business but the best on offer in the local area.

Weekend break

Perfect hotel location for apollo theatre, excellent value for money. clean room, with everything we needed. polite friendly staff. would recommend to anyone. for a continental breakfast it was excellent, even had scambled eggs and sausages!

Clean, comfortable affordable hotel in good position

Nice and simple, no whistles and bells. good, clean comfortable accommodation with clean bathrooms and pleasant staff. simple continental breakfast served in clean, quiet surroundings.

pub next door and king street has a lot of restaurants and pubs so you can find something you like (recommend the 'hammersmith ram' for a good pint of guiness)

Holiday inn hammersmith; good location but thin walls!

This holinn express ticks a lot of boxes; good transport links and parking; plenty of interesting restaurants close by (strongly recommend shilpa's indian vegetarian).
room was clean and spacious but noise from adjoining room meant little sleep - they weren't shouting, it was just a family talking late at night but very disruptive because of paper thin wall/adjoing door.
bar area absolutely dead; probably because there is a very lively wetherspoons' pub next door! staff efficient and usual decent breakfast.
