Carousel

I haven't been to blackpool for years and would not chose it for a vacation but friends from the south were on a festive break and so, living in manchester i joined them for a couple of days. i was amazed by the hotel, the taxi driver said it was the best in blackpool and he was right. the interior resembled hotels in the usa, so clean, fabulous room, lots of heat (it was 3 below outside). the food was lovely and the staff, all young and seemingly local, were amazing, all youthful and friendly. the first thing i did on returning home was to look up the hotel chain on the web and sadly the only other one they have is in the isle of man, otherwise i would have booked at once.

Big problem for us

Although we enjoyed our stay and the hotel knew we were bringing mum in a wheelchair we were allocated the 1st floor the rooms were great, and as carers just opposite mums room, the big problem was that the lift was too small for a standard wheelchair, i told them at the desk i was struggling with the size of the lift and asked was there a ground floor room, i was told we were put in that room because of the wheel chair but if i needed any assistance just to let them know, no one came back to me over the stay to see how we were coping ! i ended up taking the footrests off everytime we had to use the lift and still struggled getting myself in after the wheelchair was in and then negeotiating the gate and floor buttons.
i would revisit the hotel as the room and food was good, the rooms were very warm (i would recommend you take a fan with you ) but would not visit with wheelchair again as i was exhausted opening the 3 doors which were not automatic to get the wheelchair through, this with the difficulty negotiating the lift poor mum would need to stay at home, she had a great time but unfortunately i now need a break.

Carousel hotel blackpool

Nice hotel, good location for the pleasure beach. room was clean, warm and comfortable. breakfast was good quality and staff were friendly. only slight complaint would be that the bar was very noisy into the early hours of the morning and our room was above. however, if you were staying at the other side this wouldn't be a problem, just something to consider if you like early nights or have young children. overall, a good hotel and value for money.

Nightmare

A total disaster. no record of our booking and we were not the only ones! they had to find us another hotel. cost us hours. will never use you again
