The hotel building was built in 1951 and renovated in 2003. It consists of 6 floors and 145 rooms, of which 30 are singles, 110 are doubles and 5 are suites. The lobby is medium-sized and elegantly decorated with traditional furnishings in soft pale salmon pink colours. 17th century masterpieces are displayed around the public areas. The attractive patterned marble floors add to the elegant atmosphere of this hotel.

Exterior

The outer façade of this building is made of traditional sandstone, in an early 1900’s design, which blends in well with local art nouveau style architecture.

The rooms are spacious and very well decorated with traditional furnishings, and are all fully equipped. Some of them have wonderful views over the Square and the Cathedral. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, safety deposit box, plasma screen, DVD player and CD player.

Hotel colon

Had a nice stay at this hotel although the room faced the opposite way to the cathedral and was a bit noisy due to scooters and a little bar.
overall room was spacious for the 3 of us with a big jacuzzi bath and shower over.
