Joetsu is known as the first place in Japan where skiing was introduced by Austrian Major Lerch. It is also famous for the Takada castle, Joetsu Peace memorial Park (the former Prisoner of War campsite), and Naoetsu Port. The hotel is suitable for both business and leisure travelers. (07/07 HT)
The hotel is located in Takada area, the heart of Joetsu City. It takes only three minutes walk from JR Takada Station on Shinetsu Line. Guests can easily find a signboard of the hotel from the station. From Takada station, it is ten minute-ride to Naoetsu, which is accessible by express trains from major cities of this region: Kanazawa (120minuets), Toyama (70 minutes), Nagano a terminal of bullet trains (90minutes), two gateways for ski resorts Echigo-Yuzawa (60 minutes, a bullet train station) and Myoko (40 minutes). It takes about 20 minutes walk to Takada Park and Takada Castle. A 25 minute-drive from the hotel leads travelers to Naoetsu Port, which is the departure point of ferry to the Sado Island.
