3 Stars

Via San Francesco d' Assisi, 1 - 31032 Casale sul Sile - Treviso - Treviso, Italy View Map

The Claudia Augusta is a Venetian villa of the XIX century renovated into a three-star hotel. The property still retains period details such as the large central fireplace, once the heart of domestic activities. The hotel takes its name from an ancient Roman road linking the historic town of Altino with Germany. This road passed right where now stands the hotel. In winter you can enjoy a relaxing break by the fireplace. In spring and summer you can taste the local wines of the famous wineries of Treviso in the nature of the private park, which covers an area of 6 hectares.
The Claudia Augusta is located within the Natural Park of the Sile river and a few kilometers from Treviso and Venice and their respective airports. Located in the scenic countryside of Treviso is 20 minutes from Treviso and Venice, just a few kilometers from the A4 Milan Trieste, Venice, Belluno and A27, with direct access from the new Mestre. The railway station of Quarto d'Altino, 3 kilometers from the hotel, will take you to Venice in 25 minutes.

Art trip to the veneto

This hotel was perfect for our needs, within easy distance of venice, padua, vicenza and treviso. we even managed a trip to cortina and the foothills of the dolomites with a visit to the lovely sleepy town of asolo.

one of our party was disabled with a wheelchair and the hotel catered for this very well.

highly recommended

It is not far from the airport but could be difficult to reach without a car. ideal location for trips to venice as you could take the train from the nearby quarto d'altino station. have your change ready for the ticket machine as it does not accept notes. it is near the motorway and main roads leading to italian lakes. ideal for having a good night's sleep after a busy day. i could highly recommended.

Fine hotel but no restaurant

Stayed here night before catching flight from venice airport. receptionist was welcoming and spoke good english, the room was good though the tv was a bit small. only problem was the lack of a restaurant which was not noticed at the time of booking though there is a pizzeria nearby.

Fabulous hotel for a fabulous price . . .

My husband and i stayed here for two nights (sat. & sun.). we drove there from munich . . . the place was hard to find, but that's a common problem i've always had in italy when staying in a hotel that is not right off the highway (you have to have 20/20 vision, wear night goggles, and be on foot to read the street signs . . . all the same in venice, florence, treviso, etc). we were lost for about an hour until i decided to call the hotel. the clerk spoke perfect english, and gave easy and clear directions . . . we arrived at the hotel less than 10 min. later.

the hotel is in a small, sleepy town, and is located in the middle of a very large field. this is not the place to stay if you do not have your own transportation, or if you are looking for a party; however, our room was clean; the hotel was very quiet; and breakfast was satisfactory.

the town had nice restaurants, dive bars, and a few clothing shops. i think almost everyone who was at the hotel was only there to tour venice, which was only a 15 min. drive by car (no traffic).

parking on tronchetto, venice costs 20 eur, and a 12hr public transportation pass costs 13 eur pp.

we spoke with many other tourists who were staying on the main venice island, or on lido in mid to low price hotels (150 eur or less), and they all had negative things to say about them. i don't know the names of those hotels, but it seemed the only good thing about them was that they were on the islands; however, they were not worth the noise or smell in the night.

the claudia augusta is a great hotel, especially for the price we paid (62 eur total per night). it was worth getting lost a little bit, and the extra 15 min drive into venice.
