It stands, in fact, on the traces of an ancient Roman domus, dating back over 2000 years ago, whose remains are still visible on the garden floor with the splendid walls and the suggestive cave, an indispensable passage to bring water from the springs to the valley; in fact in the imperial era, Sorrento and in particular the stretch of coast in which we are located was chosen by the Roman nobles for the realization of their imposing summer villas. The mild climate, the incomparable scents, the unique views with breathtaking colors, were the elements, still present, and that struck them. In particular Agrippa, politician, military and Roman architect, built (where today there is the Hotel Syrene) an imposing Villa, then passed as an inheritance to Augustus the first Roman emperor. With the presence of the emperor, many noble patricians sought in the immediate vicinity places to build their summer residence. Villa Gilda can accommodate up to 9 people and also has air conditioning, underfloor heating and romantic fireplace for winter periods. You will not need the car to stay at Villa Gilda but, if necessary, you can park it in a convenient private parking within easy distance (where you can book a seat at a reduced cost).

THE FIRST BEDROOM: has a refined furniture. The canopy bed creates a romantic atmosphere. Here you will also find a comfortable futon, from which you can admire the remarkable view, a satellite TV, a small “vintage” fridge and walk-in closet. The room is equipped with air conditioning and heating. Also from this bedroom you can access the terrace with a view of the sea and Vesuvius. You will reach the room from the hallway. THE SECOND BEDROOM: has a large double bed, a television, a safe and walk-in closet. The room is equipped with air conditioning and heating. This bedroom has an exclusive balcony with sea and Vesuvius views. You will reach the bedroom from the hallway. THE THIRD BEDROOM: has a double bed (on request you can divide into two single beds), a TV, the safe and walk-in closet. The room is equipped with air conditioning and heating. You will reach the bedroom from the hallway. THE FOURTH BEDROOM: very spacious has a double bed “King size”, a single bed, a TV and walk-in closet. It has a suggestive tufa stone arched ceiling dating back to the Roman masonry. The room is equipped with air conditioning and heating. From the bedroom you can access the panoramic garden via a French window. You will reach the bedroom through a small study and a thinkio or directly from the garden.
