Rating of the hotel continental, genoa

Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean rooms, excellent extra facilities in partner hotel net door. situated with easy access to the main port and the main rail station. slight problems with slow wifi hookup in the mornings.
easy walk to centre of genoa.

Good location, good rooms, good service.

This hotel is conveniently located within 200 meters of the railway station and bus stop where the airport bus stops and travel onwards to the costal resorts further south. the distance from the hotel to the old port area is within 10 minutes.
despite being on the main road, there is not too much traffic noise in the bedrooms. we stayed in a superior room overlooking a side street with a view of the bus stops at the railway station. our bedroom has wooden floors and a fully tiled large and well laid out bathroom. the bedroom was spacious with a large double bed, a double couch, two chairs, and a vanity / writing desk. the bedroom window is large and has a roller shutter outside. the wardrobe was large with plenty of clothes hangers and storage cupboards. the bathroom has a bath and shower. the combination of shower curtain and shower screen prevents shower water leaking onto the floor. the shower water pressure was very low, the shower head rose does not work properly and the shower head arm fitting slides down the rail which means that you had to reposition the shower head and arm regularly. a regular sized complimentary bottle of water is left in the bedroom each day and there is bottled water available on self-service for guests in the lobby.
the hotel has free wi fi but there is a charge to use the internet computer in the lobby. the hotel has six floors served by stairs and a lift ( elevator) with the old style cantilevered cage doors. the hotel character is old fashioned and clean.
the breakfast is self-service buffet with plenty of good quality food for all guests . hot food for breakfast is stored in covered heated trays which we thought kept the food warm rather than hot.
the staff in the breakfast room are attentive, friendly and helpful. the staff in the reception are efficient friendly and helpful. they are willing to assist in any way possible.
