Overnight stay in florence

I booked this room in florence because i had to reach an early flight in pisa. i did not want to pay too much for a stay of a few hours. however i had not expected something quite so minimal for my 67 euros. this was more on the level of a youth hostel than a hotel. battered paint, little or no furniture except the bed, a bathroom which had seen better days although containing that rare commodity in italian hotels, a bath.trouble was, i felt too squeamish about the grimy grout between the tiles to use it. the place was full of students/ schoolchildren who pounded about all night shrieking, banging doors etc. i would have been better off sleeping on the forecourt of the railway station. having said that i was received warmly (also a rare commodity in italian hotels) and the bed was comfortable and clean. the hotel (on the third floor of an appartment block) was in an attractive enough part of florence very near to the river with only a ten minute walk to the station.
