It became a hotel in 1912 and has been run as a family business since then, with the main attention centred on friendly helpfulness and cleanliness based on the typical Florentine and Tuscan way of life. Being one of the few real original proudly run Florentine family businesses left in Florence, the Lassi and Gurrieri families take great pride in providing the maximum of hospitality and comfort in the good Tuscan tradition.
Right in the heart of the centre of Florence, at two minutes walk from the Cathedral you will find this pleasant, comfortable, small, and charming hotel. All museums, monuments, business and meeting centre and the San Lorenzo market are within easy walking distance from our hotel's convenient position. Hotel Nizza, situated in one of Florence's most central streets is to be found in a building which goes back to the 14th century. An engraved marble stone dated 1807 confirms that in the seventeen hundreds it was used as a residence for monks from the nearby Santa Maria Novella monastery, (100 yards away).

Hotel Nizza has now been completely transformed with the latest re-modernisation (using local materials such as "cotto", walnut wood, marble and Firenzuola stone) made during the winter of 2001. The 18 rooms, all furnished in Tuscan-Florentine style, have been totally refurbished with private bathrooms, air conditioning, satellite television, hair dryer, direct telephone line and safe-box. All these comforts make it a top quality hotel in its category.
