Exterior
The Hotel Désirée is 12 kilometres from Portoferraio, one kilometre from Procchio, seven kilometres from Marciana Marina and five kilometres from Marina di Campo. Its position in the centre of the island makes it easy and fast to reach from all the most important locations. And the airport is only four kilometres away. When you get to Portoferraio follow the signs for Procchio. Keep going towards Marciana Marina and after one kilometre turn right for Spartaia.
Rooms
The rooms are in three separate buildings which are close to one another. The Dèsirée with classic, superior and deluxe rooms; the Paolina with apartments which are ideal for families and the Walewska with family apartments. The Désirée is the hotel’s central building and also houses the reception, the restaurant and the main bar. It has Classic (garden or mountain view), Superior (sea view) and Deluxe rooms. The Paolina is next to the main building and has junior suites and apartments for families on its three floors. All the rooms have wonderful sea views. The Walewska building is a short walk from the main building and has family apartments on two floors.
Restaurant
In our restaurants and bar you will discover and enjoy the best of traditional Italian cuisine. Our Chef Giuseppe Brescia and his team in the Don Carlos Restaurant will delight you with typical Italian and Tuscan specialities. Some of them have been chosen for their low-cal content and others for vegetarians and coeliacs. And of course there is a mouth-watering dessert trolley which has been prepared by our creative pastry chef. There is also a kid’s menu with colourful and amusing dishes to satisfy our smaller guests. Open from 19.30 to 21.30. What better place to start the day than in our breakfast room with its splendid views of the Bay of Spartaia and magnificent breakfast buffet with hot and cold Italian specialities. Lost in the luxuriant Mediterranean-scrub park and close to the swimming pool this bar serves Mediterranean dishes and grilled fish, enhanced by traditional Italian flavours to create an unforgettable culinary experience by candlelight and under a starry sky. The restaurant is open from the middle of June until the end of August, weather permitting. The terrace overlooks the splendid Bay of Spartaia with the Enfola promontory in the distance. What could be better than to sip a cocktail here at sunset, enjoy one of our chef’s specialities during the day, or just simply come here to relax? At lunchtime our menu includes many tasty salads, pizzas, fresh custom-made sandwiches, special pasta dishes and a baby menu for our smaller guests. Our complete and delicious lunchtime menu will surprise and delight you. The best place for a fast and easy snack or drink is the Beach Bar and it means you don’t even have to leave the beach. Ice-creams, cocktails and after-dinner drinks can be enjoyed beside the swimming pool or in the relaxing area under the olive trees. This bar is also on the beach and serves a selection of smoothies, frappés and cut fresh fruit, all prepared on the spot. The menu lists the calorie-count and the energy content and properties of the products used.
