Chad is a country in Central African that borders with Libya to the north, with Sudan to the east, with Niger to the west, with the Central African Republic to the south, and with Cameroon and Nigeria to the southwest.

The country is divided into different geographic areas: a desert zone in the north, an arid area in the centre (Sahel) and a more fertile zone in the south. Lake Chad, after which the country is named, is the second largest in Africa. The climate is characterized by a wet season (from May to October in the south, from June to September in the Sahel) but in general it varies depending on the area.

The capital is N'Djamena, which is also the largest city in Chad. The official languages ​​are Arabic and French, and the religions most practiced are Islam and Christianity.
