Passareiro is a charming and traditional working estate located in the heart of Portugal’s unique Alentejo region. As part of large and very beautiful cork and wine estate, the house itself dates from the 18th Century and has belonged to an Anglo-Portuguese family for over five generations. Over the years, it has played a warm welcome to guests from around the world and it is in this spirit that the house is opening to visitors today. Surrounded by ancient cork forests, vineyards and olive groves, Passareiro is a truly exceptional house, offering guests a chance to enjoy the unhurried atmosphere and authentic old-world charm of one of Europe’s most unspoiled rural areas. Perfectly located to explore all the area has to offer, Passareiro is within easy reach of Lisbon airport (1hr15mins) by motorway. The UNESCO World Heritage town of Evora is 25mins away and there are several other historic towns within easy reach. Guests are also welcome to walk on the estate, exploring our vineyards and cork forests or to just relax by the pool and take in the atmosphere. Passareiro sleeps 10 in six bedrooms and is available for private stays year-round on an exclusive basis only. Accommodation is offered on a self catering basis, but chefs can be arranged in advance.
