Although the hotel was under refurbishment and we were not allowed to open the windows, there was air conditioning. In fact, on the days that we were there, there was a public holiday & no renovating work was being done, so we opened the windows anyway.

Extremely clean, air conditioned, excellent location, friendly staff, modest but comfy room, good price. Poor breakfast (sweet pastries and hot drinks from a vending machine) and poor sound insulation - get ear plugs! May not be suitable for people with limited mobility and families with small children - steps, heavy doors and a small lift. No traffic noise but the tiny inner court yard was dark and fumey and we couldn't keep the window open. Good location for cheaper bars and restaurants close to the la Rambla.

This is the best one star hotel I have ever stayed at.
When we went in the entrance we were a bit wary as it could have done with a coat of paint. But the rooms were very clean and tidy. Maid service every day and clean towels every day. Bed Linen was immaculate. Rooms not huge and could do with a lick of paint but were cleaned every day. The breakfast left a lot to be desired but for the price this is not surprising. I would definately stay here again as it is so well situated. Very close to La Ramblas and Place Catalunya. If you go visit the Jules Verne on La Ramblas very hospitable place.
