We had booked a twin room, specifically stated on our confirmation but were shown to a double. on going back to reception, the male member of staff (who was already dealing with a group of disgruntled guests having problems with their own check in) entered into a pointless disagreement that the agency i had booked through had told them we wanted a double - it was pointless as they had a twin room available anyway. the window to our room was right by the front door, so we had disturbance from other guests going outside for a cigarette in th night talking loudly, which the staff really should have dealt with. overall though, it was value for money although i wouldn't stay there again as it was a £10 cab ride away from york centre, so it would be more cost effective to pay a little extra to stay more centrally.
