A disappointing stay.

Although the communal areas of the hotel were nicely presented, the bedrooms were very out-dated and quite grotty. this was very disappointing for a hotel of this apparent standard. this is definitely not a 4-star hotel!!! i'd give it 3 stars at a maximum.

the shower was awful. the water spluttered to nothing twice whilst i had a full head of shampoo lather. after that the temperature was swinging between scolding hot and freezing cold. not pleasant!

the service at breakfast was particuarly bad, we had to ask for our coffee three times to then be brought tea anyway. the poached eggs i ordered were cooked through completely but it wasn't worth the energy trying to get them replaced given the service we'd already received.

overall very disappointing.

Excellent: 5/5 More Details

Very good hotel

Before we arrived the reception staff were very helpful in finding us a taxi firm to take us to dinner at a nearby two michelin starred restaurant. on arrival reception were friendly, the taxi arrived on time and the room was very good. the next morning the receptionist asked if we had had a good meal the night before.
