Staying in london on the hotest day of 2013, the mandeville was literally a cool retreat. yes it has tready boutique decor but more importantly that day was the air conditioned room - a haven from the heat outside. great location for the shops and parks and the quickest check-in and out i've experienced.

We stayed for rugby/galleries/chelsea flower show. very close to oxford street and bus/unerground routes, so also great for shopping.
staff were excellent, especially concierge staff who were always most helpful with taxis/opening doors/route advice/helping with re-packaging some breakables when leaving.
continental breakfast was excellent. again, staff helpful in bringing re-fills regularly, and clearing tables (my pet hate). everything was fresh and delicious.
the reform bar is a nice place to unwind in the evening over a glass of wine - quiet and comfortable.
room was smallish but adequate. very clean and bed very comfortable - changed daily if you so wished.

We stayed here for 2 nights for my wifes birthday and everything was first class. the location is great, with a less than 5 minute walk to bond street tube and oxford street and marylebone high street even nearer.
upon arrival all the staff were very friendly and helpful and straight away wished my wife happy birthday and a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite was a very nice gesture.
the suite itself was a good size with a king size bed which was very comfortable, and a generous bathroom with a large walk in shower as as well as a seperate bath with shower too.
due to refurbishment of the restaurant we had breakfast delivered to our room and the continental breakfast was really good with choices of fresh fruit, croissants, pastries, ham and cheese with fresh orange juice and coffee.
the hotel is pricy, but most hotels in london are and it's worth paying a bit extra to get this kind of quality, service and location.

I was recommended this hotel by a friend and was not disappointed. it's in a great location; two minutes from bond street station and oxford street. the staff couldn't have been more helpful and attentive, and i liked the fact they remembered our names! our room was small but beautifully presented; decor was clean and modern. bathroom again was small but this was outweighed by the power shower, which was fab! we had a continental breakfast each morning, the usual fruit, cereals and pastries. the bar area was bright, modern and funky! we didn't eat in the restaurant, instead we took advantage of the array of restaurants situated close by in st christopher's place.

Having booked a "superior" room i was disappointed to discover that a superior room was in fact the standard offering. the room, though nicely furnished, clean and comfortable was very, very small with a depressing view to the rear of the hotel. i might have expected two matching glasses in a double room! shower was possibly the best feature.
breakfast was lovely but i was constantly asking for things such as the right cutlery and even finding someone to give my order to. housekeeping did find my glasses, unfortunately left behind, so not all bad
