Disgrace

It is an absolute shame that this hotel can use this name and be in the state it is our room was terrible the bathroom was awful plaster cracked all the way around, yellow stained roof ,cracked tiles on the floor the bedroom window wouldn’t close and noise from the traffic was unbelievable someone is just making money using this name without making any repairs at all this hotel should be the star of inverness not the dump.

Above and beyond

We arrived around 2pm and the room wasn't ready, so we sat down in the grand old lobby for their lovely tea with finger sandwiches, scones and petit fours.

on a whim, i asked if they had one of their rooms with the four-poster bed, and they gave us room 206. what an upgrade! not only was the bed a treat, but the bathtub for two had jacuzzi jets and there was a little sitting area around a fireplace.

the ornate stairways were lined with contemporary artwork for sale.

this hotel is in the centre of town and perfect for onward travel via train or bus.

Two day break

An old hotel which only shows a few signs of its age. comfortable and in a good locality with numerous shops and pubs nearby. a large shopping precinct on doorstep. room small but has all facilities. bathroom small with not a lot of shower room but clean and certainly usable. would stay again without a doubt.

Inverness delight

Beautiful central hotel, stunning when you walk in front door but when you reach first floor everything changes. very tired and dated furnishings, carpets seen better days, needs a whole new refit. saying that the rooms were spotlessly clean and warm., on the whole great stay and lovely breakfast

Stay in inverness

I liked the friendliness of the staff but there was confusion over having to have my card swiped before i could eat . this was not explained and was due to my booking the room with your company for board only. i thought i could just pay at the end but felt i was treated with some difference food was not as good as the local restaurants
i assume 1 is lows and 5 is high . this is not clear

Fantastic weekend

Superior old style hotel. grand stairway and beautiful architecture and decor. friendly, helpful staff, very polite and courteous. rooms clean and good supply of towels, tea / coffee and sparkling water. bar prices reasonable for a hotel, with second drink half price each night. beds firm, but extremely comfortable. rooms quiet at night. breakfast a bit pricey, but excellent quality and portion size. located attached to railway station in center of town. 2 min walk to main streets and shopping centre, 5 mins from the river and cafe / bars. will definitely return for the highland hospitality.

No highland hospitality breakfast!!!!!

My personal experience is based on a midweek stay with my husband. we stayed 3 nights bb. the rate was resonable and location was excellent. unfortunately the breakfast was awful. i believe that when you pay for breakfast you should get breakfast right up to the time when the breakfast room closes. we arrived down at a reasonable 0845, with only 2 eggs left (rubber), scrambled eggs all dryed up, 4 rashers of bacon, dried up beans, hard fatty hash browns. i asked for a fresh fried egg, im still waiting. we spoke to the manager after the first morning, he was not interested even after finding a long black hair in my food, you couldnt see him for dust as he scurried off into the kitchen! i believe the hotel gives a great overlook and the reception gives you the impression of a lovely highland hotel, ( it used to have a great reputation many years ago) unfortunately the attention to details like feeding the guests have been overlooked. i advise that you do as we did and dont eat there. we did not eat on the 3rd morning. if you can get a good room only rate, go for it and tell them why!
