The lobby is very impressive and large in size. There is a big beech wood check-in desk and lots of sofas placed throughout.

The fact that Glasgow was called the Second City of the Empire in Queen Victoria’s day tells you just how significant the city is, not just in Scotland but worldwide. It’s a major financial capital today, but not that long ago it was a giant of heavy industry, and before that a medieval religious settlement of great importance. Stay long enough and you might detect the rivalry between Glasgow and its near neighbour Edinburgh. The latter may be the capital, they say, but Glasgow has the capital. The Victorian influence in the architecture is everywhere you look, and culture runs deep along the twisting Clyde. The City of Glasgow has thirteen separate museums, including the reopened and mega-impressive Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, making it one of Europe’s most culturally important showcases. Visitors come for the sedate pleasure of these artefacts and the beauty of the architectural gems, especially those of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, one of Scotland’s most famous architects. The fact that the city is built on a grid system makes navigation even easier for the stranger in town, and you can depend on the fact that you won’t be a stranger for very long. Alongside those quieter pleasures, Glasgow is famous for its explosion of world-class venues, and a native live music scene that’s arguably the UK’s finest. Add to that the black humour, the spade-is-a-spade directness and the proud Billy Connolly-esque working class spirit and you’ve got a gruff, smiling welcome from Glasgow that will stay with you long after you’ve left it.

Jurys Inn Glasgow hotel has 321 bedrooms in total. More spacious than you’d expect, rooms can accommodate three adults or two adults with two children, or just one guest. The well lit, spacious feel is clearly designed around our guests’ comfort. But that’s not the only little extra.

Appalling on line booking experience

The hotel itself is conveniently located. for edinburgh. but we wanted to be in glasgow!

the on line booking system was appalling, and we were told, 5 months after booking into glasgow jury's inn, that we now had no rooms booked there. we were eventually booked into edinburgh jury's inn, and promised that we would be given free train travel to glasgow. this did not fully materialise. weirdly, we got some tickets, but not others.

since then, we have tried to get assistance from both the website (hotelsclick, from the link on the jury's inn website) and jury's inn with no luck. each of the parties simply refers us to the other.
do not book online with this hotel!
