Bruntsfield hotel, edinburgh

For a one-night family birthday treat, it was just the ticket. whilst not the cheapest 3*, the refurbished bedrooms, excellent restaurant, and great breakfast meant that it was great value.
in cities, we always make a piont of eating out, rather than in the hotel, the experience being often rather bland. in fact, we'd tried to book at howies, and the outsider, but had left it too late, and somewhat apprehensive, decided to just eat-in at the bruntsfield's bisque brasserie. we were more than pleasantly surprised: the service, the food and the ambience was excellent: full marks to the bruntsfield.

Hotelsclick.com offered a very competitive price for this hotel. booking was very easy. good website. bruntsfield hotel was excellant. good bus service outside hotel for edinburgh city centre. no 22 bus stright to leith for royal yacht visit. would recommend this.

Definately not 4 star

I chose this due to location of where i needed to be and got a good price for what is called a 4-star hotel, but in reality it was more like a very basic and dated 2 star hotel so on that front very disappointing.
