Lobby
Enter through into the main reception area and beautiful candlelit ‘Hall of Pillars’ with its ornate carvings, marble floors, Minstrels Gallery and magnificent log fires. Here guests can also visit the Chapel, with its wealth of decoration. Notable features include alabaster carvings of the heads of saints and prophets and ‘wagon roof’ . The Chapel was consecrated in 1635 and still remains consecrated to this day.
Exterior
This wonderful hotel is a stately Jacobean mansion dating back to 1615, A grade 1 listed stately home, the main hall has been rebuilt at various times with a majority of today’s structure with its roots in the mid-Victorian era. Notable is the tower which now houses a four poster bedroom suite, ornate stonework, stained glass windows and landscaped gardens and terraces.

The main Hall with its intricately carved woodwork, ornate plaster ceilings, stunning fireplaces and marble floors houses 25 bedrooms, all ornate including some stunning suites and four poster beds. Additional bedrooms are located in the new west wing, where guests will find a refreshingly modern environment with a minimalist style. Here bedrooms are spacious and modern with clean, uncluttered lines where every effort has been made to ensure comfort. All bedrooms and bathrooms are in excellent condition
