The lobby area is quite small but cosy, with a reception desk and a few seats.
The hotel is a Victorian mansion and was built in 1854, but it also has 2 modern wings.
All of the rooms have private facilities and hospitality trays. Some rooms have 4 poster beds and minibars. The rooms are medium and large in size and are of excellent quality.

How did they get a four star rating and get away with charging those prices?
room temperatures were unbearable and i thought i hadn't been put in the un-renovated end of the hotel but got talking to several other parties staying in different parts of the hotel who all complained of the same.
i did like their pool/spa but again they were under renovation and could not access the spa to book from their website.
chester is a fabulous area and the staff at the hotel were great but i felt it was three star at best and would definitely get the same or better facilities for less money.
