Sloppy service let them down

Lovely hotel, tastefully renovated, and perfectly located for a visit to canterbury, and, as for us, a show at the newly re-built marlowe theatre.
staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spotlessly clean and the facilities all that one would expect.
breakfast food was excellent, cooked to order, but the experience of breakfast was spoiled by erratic and slow service. we waited a long time for tea and toast, whilst seeing other customers receiving theirs despite their having arrived after us. one customer near to us waited 20 minutes for some butter for his toast. it seemed that were plenty enough staff to deal with what was not a particularly busy breakfast time, but they were not co-ordinated, and not motivated to deal quickly with customers' needs.
