Opened in the year 2000, this hotel emphasises the use of local woods and other local products in the room décor and furnishings. The cushions and bedspreads are made from colourful cotton fabrics called madras, the island's "national cloth". Even the resort bathrobes are locally made and have become a popular souvenir item. Amongst the facilities count a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, a safe, bars, restaurants and a bicycle hire service. Fees apply for use of the room and laundry services and there is a car park for those arriving by car.
