Lobby
The large lobby is quite inposing with the reception area off to the left and eating areas and gift shops to the right.
Exterior
The building is a typical monument to stalinism, one of seven throughout Moscow which include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Moscow State University. The edifice is square with three tires and spires on each of the four corners of the spires. The whole wedding cake effect is surmounted by a spire.
Rooms
The rooms are quite old fashioned dating back to the 1950's when the hotel was opened. Despite this, the furniture is sturdy and of good soviet quality. The rooms are clean, if basic at times, especially the bathroom, but the hotel is an historic monument. The main colour scheme is based on brown.
Restaurant
The restaurants are on the ground and first floor. Both are spacious and well appointed.
