Exterior
The building was originally a monastery founded back in 1678. In 1870 it became the property of a number of Republican families until it was bought and converted into a hotel in 1982.

Location
The hotel is situated between Urubamba and Calca in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It is about 45 minutes by car from Cusco and being 1000m lower in altitude, the climate is more agreeable. It is an ideal place to get used to the altitude and a convenient base for visitng the villages of Pisac, Ollantaytambo and other nearby archaeological and cultural places of interest.
