Very nice stay here. only downside at the moment is a construction site across the narrow street. not conducive to sleeping in, but if you want to get moving by 8 am each morning, shouldn't be a problem.

Lovely new refurbished rooms, friendly and helpful staff, heated bathroom floors, comfy beds, delicious breakfast and a pretty decent price considering it's norway!
we asked for a room away from the street noise and didn't hear a sound. we also let them know we were arriving about 12.30pm and our room was ready for check in. our room was a good size with a nice double bed, wardrobe, spacious bathroom and a comfy chair under the window. the staff were incredibly helpful with directions, advice on attractions and problems we had with the safe. we were pleasantly surprised with the high standard given it was a lot cheaper than some of the other hotels.
the hotel is a short stroll (a few minutes) from the fish markets and then a few more minutes to bryggen wharf where we ate most days. there is also a supermarket nearby. we got the flybus to the fish markets from the airport and just made our way from there. great location!

room was large, modern and clean, we only stayed 1 night so more than adequate. breakfast was really good, hotel in tune with how expensive norway is for visitors as they offered free soup and bread 6-7pm which we availed of (still went out for dinner later but having already had something light to eat we only needed a main course so kept the bill down!)
likewise at breakfast they don't mind if you want to make sandwiches for lunch and ask for a small amount towards the cost of the bread, great idea. in a good location for harbour, city and train station, able to walk everywhere as not too far.

The staff here were really helpful and went out of their way to attend to guests requests. the breakfast was exceptional and the rooms were very clean and well kept.

This hotel, at the moment, resembles a building site.
workmen and materials everywhere.they startwork at 7am,hammering,drilling etc.they use the lift to transport bricks and other building materials,dust everywhere.skirting boards lying about,corridors without carpets and furniture piled up blocking corridors.this hotel should have been closed for renovation or work on one floor at a time.when we booked we weren't told these renovations were taking place.it'll be nice when finished (when????)
