Do not stay here

This is without a doubt the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. the corridors are filled with building materials and electrical cables are loose falling from the ceclings. the lift moved with the doors open! the room was bad - there was a long black hair in the bed and bullet hole in the window! the radiator was on so hot when we return to our room after an evening out it was too hot to sleep in. a man came up to repair it but couldn’t, said that they would turn down the boiler, by 1am it was so bad we had to move room. they then only had a twin room available – in which the lights didn’t work and the tv was hanging off the wall, by this point i had given up complaining. so i called it a night and slept on a broken bed. the breakfast was toast, severed in the hotel lobby next to the front doors – not good! on leaving the hotel, we explained to the man all the events that had taken place and that we were very unhappy with our stay - he did not apologise at all... and said 'i will write it down, good bye' please do not part with any money to stay at this shambles of a hotel. the website should not even offer it as an option

Weekend stay at norfolk inn

The hotel is in a good location not too far away from central birmingham (10 min drive). room was ok, nothing special, but clean and tidy. it was a little noisy during the night, weekend crowds outside i guess. breakfast included in the price was buffet and was good (hot food etc) on the whole not a bad place to stay, cheap and cheerful but a little noisy at night.

Do not stay here!!!

Shabby, unclean and a dump! from the outside you think "ok a bit in need of a lick of paint but give it a go" then at reception you are greeted by not very helpful or polite staff but hey everone has a bad day.then you make your way up to your room and you start to think maybe i should of paid an extra £6 and stayed 2 hotels down.although the room was clean, the carpet was stained, it smelt stale and the curtains didn't fit the window.a very small room and the bathroom was tiny.i would never stay in this hotel again.fire alarms going off from people smoking in there room, half naked people roaming the corridors and a steady stream of ploice cars coming to and from the hotel is not what i was expecting.if you are just looking for a place to put your head down for the night cheaply this hotel is for you but my advise is stay 2 hotels up!!!!

Disappointed

Our 'non smoking' room stunk of smoke and after requesting a move, we were told the hotel was full. the front desk said he would bring up some air freshener which never appeared. i did mention it again on the way out...it really was not very clean at all. sad, as we stay every year and this was not good. also the breakfast room was so crowded with badminton people , they ran out of plates, cutlery , food etc and were completely overwhelmed........

No title

The hotel room had no cold water, and the toilet could not flush, we asked for assistance but they could not do anything, as the hotel wass fully booked, we asked for a refund, but they would not return our money as it was booked through hotelsclick and we did not pay the hotel directly, one of the rooms i booked for two friends, the barhroom was really dirty and had dark yellow staining and we were afraid of standing in the bath to have a shower.

Happy with hotel

This hotel was perfect for our one night stay, standard basic room, clean and comfortable although bed a little squeaky, very well priced and well located to town centre. lovely modern looking bar, good service resturant, food lovely. if your seeking plush then stay at a 5 star hotel, with this hotel you get what you paid for clean friendly and basic, no complaints.

The dirtiest hotel i've ever stayed in...

On arrival, parking was good. first impressions were that the hotel needed a bit of up-dating. returning in the evening to collect the key card & see the room the reception area looked like a badly-run youth hostel! people everywhere & the staff barely coping. the room was filthy & damp - the first thing that hit you on opening the door was the smell - mould! on opening the window to ventilate the room we found the net curtains were filthy & the room overlooked the courtyard & it's contents - a dirty mattress, a toilet bowl, bins & variour members of staff 'avin' a fag. the towels were an assortment of mis-matched old, tired & tbh, nasty cloths. the bathroom was rotten & kept jamming. the only redeeming feature about this room was the shower. the breakfast was good but the staff were unable to cope with the number of guests & tbh bore all the hallmarks of a scene from a carry on film. most frustrating was the fact that i booked this hotel as it had 3 stars & was very cheap - i then had to pay a higher rate to find that the 3 star rating is totally undeserved!

Stay at norfolk birmingham august 2009

Hotel was easy to locate, central. good front to the building, reception bar restuarant. decent breakfast. rooms were small, decor dilapidated, crack in bath, and very poor ventilation in crammed bathroom, but shower was excellent.

Do not stay here

Do not stay here unless you like tiny, old fashioned rooms, dirty bathrooms, leaky plumbing, uncomfortable beds with blankets under the bottom sheet to try to smooth out mattress springs that were poking through. change of rooms for second night but little better. then there is the traffic noise from the busy hagley road causing us to get up during the night (no sleep anyway) to repeatedly open and close the window to choose between ventilation and the excessive noise. staff are somewhat surly, too, although did help with room change. we were there for a national sports event with a large group - several of whom changed rooms and some of whom checked out immediately. this hotel needs substantial investment. price was ok for the location but its the travelodge next time for us.

Norfolk hotel review

Although clearly having seen better days this was a good value stay. breakfast was fine and rooms perfectly clean. a number 9 bus from the bottom of broad street opposite the icc drops you off outside the hotel in 10 mins so city centre is easily acessible.

Stopover

We have used this hotel several times as a base to see our daughter who lives in birmingham but does not have enough accommodation for us. the hotel is very cheap and the price is reflected in the poor quality of the bedrooms which we have occupied. on the plus side, we consider that bearing in mind the cheap price, the breakfast is good value and we would say that all in all it is excellent value for money.

Hmmm....

There were 7 of us in 2 double rooms & a triple room. those of us in the triple rooms had no complaints at it seems we were in the better part of the hotel, who's rooms were given out to non-budget travellers it would seem. unfortunately the other 4 girls weren't as lucky!tiny rooms, stains on the wall..but in all honesty it suited our purposes...bed for a nite while we shopped during the day and partied till 4-5 am in the morning anyway! at 35 quid per person for the entire weekend we'd stay again... p.s breaksfast is so worht the money! hotels click is fantastic!

Norfolk hotel

Probably one of the worst hotels i have ever stayed at and there's been a few. 1st room the shower was broken (no bath) 2nd room they offered was disgusting and the bathroom would of been fine if you were happy to wash feet in shower whilst sitting on the loo - i have cupboards bigger than this. the 3rd room they offered was apparently an upgrade - two single beds pushed together which meant most of the night pulling either one of us out of the gap that appears between the two beds. cable not working, lift not working and we were on 2nd floor. no usual complimentaries in the bathroom, sheets torn. i appreciate that the workers in hotels seem to be very badly paid but they should at least refrain from speaking in foreign languages which made us and other guests feel completely ignored. if there was fitness equipement then it was very well hidden.
