Discover Vieste - Foggia
Vieste, which is also known as the “Pearl of Gargano”, is a city in the province of Foggia, in Apulia region, and it is part of the Mountain Community of Gargano and the National Gargano Park.
Vieste has a Mediterranean weather, with mild winters and hot summers. Summer is the best time to enjoy Gargano's water and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the sea.
Vieste is the farthest city at west in the Gargano promontory, and it is located on a small, asymmetrical and rocky peninsula known for the three bays separated by two points.
The first, Punta San Francesco is the ancient Medieval center of Vieste. Here, between the many and narrow streets of the city, you can find prestigious and historical buildings such as the San Francesco Church and the Cathedral. At south of Punta San Francesco there is the long, sandy beach “Pizzomunno”.
At the second, Punta Santa Croce,can be foundVieste's harbor, a very important place for the fish commerce and for the touristic traffic to and from the Tremiti Isalnds, Croatia and Manfredonia. West of Punta Santa Croce lies is San Lorenzo beach. Between the two “punte” stands Marina Piccola beach, towards the lighthouse.

- The Castle of Vieste:
It was built by the Svevi family, and it dominates the city thanks to its elevated position. You can immediately spot it between the other buildings because of the triangle-shape plant and the dark color.
- The Concathedral of Vieste:
Also known as the Dome of Vieste, the cathedral is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and it's located in one of the most elevated areas of the city. It was built in the 11th century, but because of the Saracene invasions and the frequent earthquakes that devastated the area, there is a very small portion of the original Medieval structure.
- Pizzomunno:
It's a big monolith, about 25 m tall. It rests at the beginning of the Castello beach and it's considered the symbol of the gigantic city.
- San Felice's Arch:
Truly a natural beauty. It is a natural, calcareous rock excavated by the sea and the wind. This area is full of natural-formed caves, such as Grotta Rotonda, Serpente, Viola, Smeralda and Pipistrelli.
