Foggia is a comune of 146,072 inhabitants (Foggiani) in the Province of Foggia, Italy. The name Foggia derives from Latin "foveas", meaning "pits"; it has a cathedral called Madonna dei Sette Veli, and a stadium called Pino Zaccheria home of the town's football team U.S. Foggia who play in Serie C1/B. The town is much devoted to Padre Pio although he was from Campania. Foggia is famous for its watermelons and tomatoes.
