Superb value

Arctic comfort hotel (formerly known as hotel vik, i believe) is a budget hotel offering rooms comparable with those in large chain motels (travelodge, premier inn, etc). its prices were unbeatable when i booked. the biggest downside is its location: it's far enough from the town centre to usually be the last pick-up of any tour leaving town. it's still within urban reykjavik - there's a hilton nearby, and the reykjavik lights hotel, and even a grand hotel - but far enough so the distance to town is not what most people would consider walkable, especially not in winter. staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. there is wifi throughout the hotel, but it is a little slow. rooms are equipped with mini-fridges, which went above and beyond what i expected. all in all, i'd highly recommend this hotel ot budget conscious travellers.
