Booked this because it's near excel. room is small but clean, breakfast was surprisingly good. overall experience good, if a hot shower and warm bed it's what you need.

Great location for the o2 where we were attending a conference. very helpful staff. hotel looks lovely on the outside and inside. good breakfast although could have done with a bit more choice re cereals/porridge. very comfortable stay. great to have the use of a computer too. would be very happy to stay there again.

This is the third time we have stopped here and will probably stop here again, excellent staff, friendly service and great position for the dlr with the station directly opposite the hotel with restaurants and bars in the new excel centre and nearby.

We stayed in the ibis as we were going to the 02, would def recommend it as nice and close, only a few stops on the train. you can walk down to the fly over and that then takes u straight over the thames to the o2 and its got some amazing views and the walk down to it is lovely. would stay here again as had everything we needed and was nice and clean and was a bonus having the car park too.

We struggled to find the hotel as there are lots of roadworks at the minute so we were diverted. however we got there eventually. great location directly across from the dlr stop and the excel. we were going to the o2 and it only took us 10 minutes to get there and 20 minutes into the tourist areas the next day. now to the room. unfortunately we were there on the hottest weekend of the year and the room had no air con so it was like being in a sweat box. we could slightly open the window but our room overlooked the station and the roadworks so was very noisy until 1am and then started again at about 8am. will request a back room next time. the bed was comfy and i liked the small bathroom. there was plenty of storage and extra pillows. breakfast was better than expected, it included bacon,eggs,hash browns and beans as well as the promised continental style layout. husband was very happy with this although there was a huge queue for the food. all in all,this was a great hotel for a budget stay and we would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is convenient for travelling to central london either by dlr to tower gateway or tube and buses from canning town. the hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. complimentry tea and coffee was replenished each day and bath towels were replaced each day. food was good. we had continental breakfast each day and upgraded to full english for a cost of £4.00 and this was excellent too. would recommend this hotel to anybody who wants to visit london.

Good hotel, clean, rooms a bit small. all seems very new (walls, carpets, beds, beding), flat screen tv. the continental breakfast is very good, includes coffee/teas, juices, toast, butter and jam, and on top of that, croissants, bread, choice of cereals, yogurts, fruit, and ham and cheese. the hotel is just by the exit of the custom house stop of the dlr. you have some local shops, caf and restaurants around the corner.

We had a wonderful break. the hotel was opposite the dlr station which made it very easy to access the city centre. car parking was easily accessible on the site, (though an additional charge is made - but worth every penny!!) we ate in the hotels chinese restaurant, which we enjoyed but did not agree with an additional 12.5% service charge being automatically added on to the bill. the continental breakfast was really good (even though the upgrade to the full english looked tempting). all in all a very nice hotel, great value for money, and good location. would recommend it to anyone.

If you want to be close to the excel and next to a link onto the london transport you could not find a better location. the accomodation is clean and staff very polite, efficient and friendly. car parking is a problem so be warned, and for some reason the hot water supply in our room was hit and miss. that said i would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a no frills base. the hotel's pub also serves very good and reasonably priced food.

I have used the hotel a few times now and find that it is clean, comfortable and staff are efficient and welcoming. it is useful to have a slection of eating choices and the chinese retaurant is to be recommended for a wide selection and a high standard of food.

I visited excel for uk toy fair 2008 and normally every hotel nearby is fully booked weeks in advance. i was expecting to have to stay in central london and travel out for the show but found this, adjacent to the dlr station, at a very good price with about a week to go. hotel was basic but perfectly adequate as somewhere to sleep, especially if you're familiar with formula one, etc. large, pleasant bar was a bonus.
