Would re-visit!

The hotel is in a quiet side street in the rudolfplatz area of cologne. less than a 5 minute walk away from the nearest train, tram & bus station at rudolfplatz. the hotel has a very plain looking facade and hides its pleasant interior. the reception is small but well decorated. the room we stayed in had a large bedroom area which was clean and warm, (we stayed there in february), and well decorated if a little old fashioned! the bathroom size was rather small but manageable. the staff were all friendly and helpful and most spoke good english. we only dined in the restaurant for breakfast as we were out for the rest of the day but there was plenty of food on offer, to suit english & continental tastes and you could re-visit the breakfast bar as many times as you wished in the self service area. our stay was just a short 4 days/3 nights and would stay there again.

Central for city break

Just off the main shopping centre a five minute walk away via nue markt. old town and cathederal (main station just behind cathederal) about 15-20 minute walk.
nue markt is central hub for tram and subway, as is rudolph platz five minutes away in opposite direction so it is easy to get about.
the hotel is comfortable and the breakfast is very good, what ever your preference in food. the only minor niggle is that the lovely little bar in the basement is not used, which would have been ideal for a late coffee and night-cap.
