The reception is straight opposite the hotel entrance. To the left and right of the reception area are two comfortable lounge areas pleasantly decorated in a traditional style. There is a very cosy bar with red furnishings and wood-panelled walls in the style of an English pub.

Exterior

The exterior of the building is very attractive. It is traditional in style, painted white, with ornate decoration around the windows and black wrought-iron balconies. This is a typical Belle Epoque building.

Rooms

All the guestrooms are different, either by their layout (high ceilings, split levels, terrace, on a corner of the facade or more family focused with twin beds in a separate room for the children) or by their decoration, depicted by rich warm colours that showcase the best of Riviera craftsmanship (Italian wainscoting and furniture, leather furniture, etc.). Great hotel in fab location, but v small rooms

Great hotel, fab location, excellent condition rooms, polite staff and very generous breakfast buffet. also, loved the fact that balcony looked out onto noisy beachfront ... but when you shut the balcony, it was completely soundproofed so still got a good night's sleep. only problem is the rooms are tiny (we had a superior double).

A great visit

This was the 3rd year running that we have been to this hotel. the location is superb and the facilities are ok, we were given a room on the 6th (top) floor with a balcony and side sea view at no extra charge which was a bonus. the resturant could be improved with a limited menue, and it would be nice to have a facility to sit and have a drink outside. the lobby area next to the lifts is the only place available.

Views on west end hotel nice

The room we were was quite small on the 4th floor, we were told that for 30 euros a night we could upgrade, although at that time the hotel was half empty. the breakfast was ok, the service at times quite poor. we only ate in once, and that was ok. we were surprised to see that they allowed dogs to stay overnight, and i mean huge dogs!! we were also disappointed to find that there was no bar area available. a hotel of that size should be able to provide a comfortable bar plus coffee and tea area. they are losing so many customers to the hotel westminster and other bars. they should also have a light lunch facility aside from the formal dining room. i would recommend this hotel to friends, but with reservations.

West end review

This hotel is fabulously located close to the old town and on the promenade des anglais. things are expensive on the promenade., but less so in the town.
the hotel restaurant was disapointing, overpriced for an 'ok' meal. the sea view room was small but adequate, the bed was big and comfortable. some people would find the sea view noisy as it looks across the promenade, but we did not.
overall the hotel lived up to expectaions.
