Horrible hotel. i would not recommend this hotel at all!!

This is one of the worst hotels that i have ever stayed in. the air conditioning in the main lobby and hallways was broken. the air conditioning in my room was broken and not working. when i spoke to the front desk staff, she told me they were sold out and could not change rooms. i later found out that she lied to me when they offered two other rooms. the room that they moved me to was awful. the bed and pillows are uncomfortable. the room was filthy. the shower would not drain. the food in the hotel was also disgusting. this hotel is completely overpriced and, at best, a 2 star hotel. i would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

You can definitely find better for less

The experience and the location are perfect, the hotel was also clean but for that price you can get a much better overall holiday experience spending a quarter of the cost on an alternative location and paying for the specific services required at iberostar (roof top bar, massages, pool, breakfast, etc).

Worst hotel ever!

The front desk is totally incompetent and rude. we arrived and were given a room on the 8th floor. went to the room and it was still occupied. was told there were no more rooms with 2 twins so they gave us a crappy room on the 2nd floor with 2 tiny windows. switched the next day to a room on 6th floor with 2 twins...room was good but not worth the price we paid. that evening when we went back to the room after dinner our key card wouldn't work. went to front desk..no apology...she just grabbed my key card, rescanned it and handed it back.
there were sidewalk repairs with a jackhammer blasting beginning at 9:00am in the mornings.
the continental breakfast was ok. other than that, the food was horrible. i thought this was a 5 star hotel? not!!!! service is slower than a 3-legged tortoise. expect to wait at least 30 minutes to get your bill once you request it. then the waiter stands over you until you pay your bill.
the lobby in the old part of the hotel just plain stinks of cigars/cigarette smoke. the lobby doors are always open so there is no air conditioning in either lobby.
the first morning i asked the concierge staff where i could buy a bottle of water. was directed to a "mini-market" 3 blocks away. after walking 2 blocks i decided it didn't really look safe to continue in this neighborhood so went back to hotel. as i was riding up in the elevator i noticed a café with bottled water on the table. went down to the café and bought some bottles of water "to go" without a problem.
the staff is incompetent and rude and no help whatsoever with anything.
run, run, run from this hotel...stay somewhere else.

Great hotel and amazing location!

Iberostar parque central has a very central location, walking distance to a lot of the main attractions. right outside you can get the double decker bus and a great variety of taxis. the rooms are big and comfortable, a/c and hot water worked perfectly. my only issue were the pillows; for the rate they charge per night and for a 5 stars hotel, they should have more confortable and updated pillows. the breakfast offered a big variety of things to satisfy every taste. i will definitely stay here again.

Great location and nice stay

The location is great, heart and center of all venues. 20 minutes from the santa maria beach and walking distance to the malecon. the hotel offers lots of entertainment at the hotel lobby and at the rooftop bar/pool area. excellent breakfast offered at the hotel daily.

the crowd is largely canadian and european retirees. we are a younger american couple and although we enjoyed our stay, if you are younger, find another place that is more lively.

Hotelsclick.com screws its' customers!

The hotel was very nice. my problem is with hotelsclick.com. you charged me for 2 guests in the room (double room) when i only planned to have one person in the room. this, i was told by the hotel staff, meant that i paid more than was necessary. before my trip, i pointed out this fact in an e-mail to hotelsclick.com staff and it was never fixed for me. i was, therefore, over charged and hotelsclick.com refuses to accept responsibility for their error.
