The Russell Hotel of Sydney is located in the ancient district of The Rocks, a favourite area for tourists and locals for its mix of past and present. At the beginning of the twentieth century Sydney had an outbreak of bubonic plague, so the property was used as a hospital. In the following years it was turned into a hostel for sailors. It is said that in this hotel, more precisely in room 8, is the ghost of a dead sailor who died there and has no intention of leaving the premises. Some guests have reported being woken up by the creaking of the floorboards and seeing the ghost staring at them from the foot of the bed. And you, would you dare to spend the night at The Russell?

The Russell Hotel dates back to 1887 and retains the elegance and charm of that period.
