Discover Berat

Berat is a town located in south-central Albania and the capital of both the District of Berat and the larger County of Berat. In July 2008, the historical part of the city was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Berat lies on the right bank of the river Osum, a short distance from the point where it is joined by the Molisht river. Berat experiences a Mediterranean climate. Due to its location in a rain shadow of Mount Tomorr the summer in Berat is much warmer than the rest of Mediterranean. Berat is the hottest city in Albania.
