Situación
The Portree Hotel is an ideal base for exploring all that Skye has to offer. Portree harbour, swimming pool, shops and library are all within 5 minutes walk. The Isle of Skye boasts some of the most stunning, unspoilt scenery you will find anywhere in the world where wildlife can live freely in their natural environment. You may catch sight of the rare white tailed sea eagle as it soars over cliffs over 100 feet high, whilst the Golden Eagle can be seen commonly around the Island particularly in the Cuillin Mountains. May and September are the perfect times to take advantage of the many boat trips offered from Skye as dolphins, minke whales and basking sharks are commonly seen around the lochs and inlets. Seals and otters are common around these shores and can be watched at leisure from certain vantage points as can cormorants, gannets and other seabirds. Nature lovers will relish the sight of the many wild flowers adorning the croft lands and moors during the summer months. Wild orchids, buttercups, artic alpines and the glorious purple heather clothe Skye in glorious colour, whilst Skyelarks burst with song overhead.
