The neighborhood has convenience stores, grocery stores, small shops, and restaurants near the station, and near the intersection at Kujo Dori across the river. Your neighbors will be elderly Japanese people, so please be very quiet in or outside of the house after 9pm. The closest station is Tofukuji station, 7 mins walk, which has both JR line and Keihan line. Tofukuji station is only one stop away from Kyoto station by JR line where you can change other lines such as Shinkansen. Tofukuji station is only 3 stop away from Gion Shijo station by Keihan line which is the Kyoto down town area, very convenient to go to Gion, Kiyomizu dera, Hanamikoji etc. There is a tofukuji bus stop also 7 mins walk from the apartment.
