The villa is situated in the hills that ascend from the city of Florence towards Chianti. It is part of a large historic estate belonging to an aristocratic Florentine family. The countryside all around is a succession of woods, olive groves and vineyards, dotted with farmhouses and the bell-towers of little parish churches. Soaring above all are the lofty cypresses that are the symbol of Tuscany. The nearby Via Chiantigiana offers a perfect route, panoramic in some stretches, for reaching the most famous places in Chianti such as Greve, San Polo and Panzano or nearby Siena. From Panzano onwards the road follows the crests of the hills, offering a succession of unique vistas.
