A gem of a hotel

We only stayed in barcelona and the villa emilia for two nights at the end of a mediterranean cruise but we loved the city and the hotel very much. we would certainly recommend it to any of our family and friends who were going to barcelona. our room was not big but it was very clean and furnished in a contemporary way. the staff were polite and very helpful. the continental breakfast was excellent, as was our evening meal when we ate at the hotel on our last night. the hotel is close enough to the city centre to walk in or it is just three stops on the metro (nearest station just five minutes walk away).

Fantastc hotel

We had a long week end at the villa emilia, i can't praise it highly enough, staff are really friendly, decor is contemporary & very stylish, everywhere has a scented smell. biggest surprise was the standard of the food, can honestly say it was the best food we had during our stay in barcelona, we ate at other highly rated restaurants. roof terrace is exactly as the pictures great place to sit, chat, drink & enjoy the view. have recommended to all our friends. terrific value for money all round.

Villa emilia - highly recommended

We really enjoyed our stay at villa emilia. the staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly. the hotel is decorated stylishly and is very comfortable. rooms are well presented and very clean. food was exceptionally good and of excellent quality. i would recommend adding breakfast to your stay. remember to reserve a place for dinner in the afternoon if you wish to dine that night. it's in a good location and the metro is nearby. we have only good things to say about our stay there and definitely use the villa emilia again.

Lovely hotel in barcelona

I booked villa emilia after reading reviews about it and was definitely not disappointed. my husband was at a conference in barcelona and i joined him for the weekend. i loved the interior design of the hotel. it was extremely clean and we had a lovely corner room with three full height windows which made the room lovely and bright. we had a tub with a shower over it and the strength of the shower certainly wakened us up in the morning. the mattress was firmer than most hotels but i liked that and i loved the big square pillows on the bed. all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. the hotel is just around the corner from the metro and has got lots of lovely looking restaurants nearby. we did not try any out though as we ate in the centre on both nights. on our return to the hotel on our first evening there was a pianist playing and we sat and enjoyed the ambience whilst having a glass of bubbly. there is a really nice roof terrace where you can chill out and have coffee or a drink and something to eat. the breakfast is very good too - continental style with lots of pastries, ham, cheese, boiled eggs, bread, cereals. we ate in the hotel for lunch and had a really tasty mozzarella, tomato and avocado salad with our sandwiches. i found the hotel food and drink to be very reasonably priced, i actually found most of barcelona to be that way too. on our second evening we ate at taller de tapas in the born district next to the santa maria del mar church. we had to wait 30 minutes or so for a table but it was worth it. the atmosphere is buzzing and the food was delicious. we had 8 good sized tapas dishes with a side of tomato bread followed by crema calatana (which we shared!) and two soft drinks was around 50 euros
